In honor of Flashback Friday, I have decided to post some short stories from my past. By short, I mean only a few sentences. I'd rather your imagination come up with the details.
ONE TIME Hilary and I were making our Halloween costume and some boys were texting us from the local movie theatre, trying to get us to join them at a scary movie.
Instead we made this:

I think we made the right choice.
Note: This costume was inspired by one we wanted to buy in a costume store. Unfortunately, it was made for children so we had to create a larger version to fit us.
ONE TIME I shared a studio apartment with a friend. She would wake up really early for class, come home and nap for 6 hours, then rap Eminem in the dark while I tried to sleep. Now she lives in Brazil. I miss her.

ONE TIME in 10th grade PE I tricked Katie and Jenny into being my friends by following them around and acting like I understood all of their inside jokes. They allowed it because Katie thought I was friends with Jenny and Jenny thought I was friends with Katie. Suckers.
ONE TIME we wanted to go skinny dipping at Girl's Camp, but because there were rumors of "Swimmer's Itch," we only waded. A group of us just stood in the moonlight in knee deep water, completely naked. It got awkward real quick.

ONE TIME my mom told me that the popcorn at a restaurant was free only because the waitress was impressed that I had made it to the District Spelling Bee. For years afterwards, my mom would always say, "Yup, the popcorn's just for you, right Ry?" I didn't learn for a long time that she was being sarcastic. Apparently everyone there gets free popcorn.

ONE TIME my soccer team had a sleep over on the field. A group of the girls invited Hilary B. and me to come egg their ex-boyfriends' houses, but she and I were too worried about eating the hugest mound of snacks known to man. They got in a lot of trouble. I usually pretend that we didn't go because we wanted to choose the right...and not because we're just pigs.

ONE TIME an acquaintance of mine didn't know what to do with her leftover carved pumpkins from Halloween. So she and her daughters smashed them in the road in front of their house and pretended to be outraged that "someone" would smash all of their pumpkins. Sneaky lady.

ONE TIME I told a story to my 5-year-old primary class and ended with how Andrew and I had gotten married. One of the girls sighed like she was really disappointed in me and said, "And then you're gonna get pregnant."
ONE TIME that same little girl punched another girl in my class in the face. "I didn't mean to punch her!" she said earnestly. Because she was actually trying to punch the boy next to her in the face.
ONE TIME the SAME 5-year-old told me my stomach was squishy, like her mom's.
ONE TIME Makelle and I played Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit while we watched...Lord of the Rings. Oh wait, that happened like every single day.

ONE TIME in 8th grade there was a boy who called me "goofy looking." So I didn't buy him a snow cone a year later even though he begged. I've never been great at revenge.
ONE TIME Hilary, another girl, and I went sledding at night. We didn't realize the snow had turned to pure ice and people had made ramps down at the bottom. I'm pretty sure I cracked a vertebrae after flying off the icy ramp, but Hilary and the other girl just stood at the top and laughed at me. "You looked like a rag doll!" they said. I tried to warn them not to come down, but the breath was knocked out of me. They too crashed. So we all went home. Worst sledding ever.

ONE TIME the boy I had a crush on flicked a booger on my bare shin. Four years later we got married.

HAPPY FLASHBACK FRIDAY!!!
