Summer Catch Up

We've got a lot of ground to cover, so no more questions. Let's get straight to business.

Since the last blog post, I enjoyed both the Elk Ridge Parade and the Genola Parade. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture at the Elk Ridge Parade. So instead, here's a picture of Tukk dressed up as the Hulk. Hopefully it's an appropriate replacement. 

So beefy.

 Here's a picture from the Genola Parade, famous for its efficiency. It's totally normal to watch this town parade from the back of a Ranger.  It's also normal for the "floats" (typically tractors, 4-wheelers, or trucks pulling trailers full of people) to throw enough candy for every kid to get a full grocery sack. The best part of the Genola Parade, however, (besides the new addition of throwing grilled hot dogs from the floats) is that it only takes 15 minutes or so for the parade to go by twice. It's awesome.

Of course we attended the Genola Rodeo later that night, followed by viewing the town fireworks from my parents' roof.

We celebrated America's birthday by hiking the Santaquin Narrows.

It's like they're posing next to a statue at a theme park. 

We also had a fun trip down to Junction where we heard coyotes howl and cats...get busy. Oh, and we caught a bunch of fish at Otter Creek.

Tukker turned 4 and is finally growing out of his sweet tooth phase, obviously.

Klive turned 2, yet wears the same size of clothes as his 4-year-old cousin. Oh, and he finally likes me!

I got to run in the first annual Red Rock 5k down in Torrey with my mom, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew. It's crazy how good of shape I'm in. So good, in fact, that I received a Participant Ribbon.

We basked in the glorious Wicked at the Capitol Theatre.

Andrew and I thought it would be appropriate to dress up, but perhaps we went overboard...

He's the cute blonde of course.

And I made 3 new friends this month, which is quite the feat considering my lack of social skills.

Oh and we celebrated our first year anniversary on August 6th with dinner at Texas Road House (Andrew gave me his helping of mashed potatoes so I know he really loves me) and the new Batman movie. For all of you who didn't think we would make it a whole year, neiner neener.

Yee-Haw!

June 2012 Update

I sure am good at coming up with catchy titles.

Here's the haps my peeps:

We stayed overnight up Fairview Canyon on Grandpa Rosenbaum's property. Then Andrew spent some time waging war on the giant tree beasts that were threatening to destroy the campground. While he was performing a man job that I couldn't participate in, what did I do? I followed him around and took pictures of course! See the evidence below.

He's so fierce.

Our newest niece Laurelai also got blessed this month so we got to see the Krambules and the Hayes. Oh, and the Tuttles. But we always see them. ;)

Anyways, of course Chance challenged Andrew to a pink lemonade chugging contest. Andrew scraped out a win. Then he promptly threw up everything he had eaten in the last hour. As always, his supportive wife got an excellent picture of it. 

Thanks to Deseret Book's discount passes, we got to go to Lagoon! 

The Log Flume and Rattle Snake Rapids got us soaked.

We celebrated with Icees and Frozen Lemonade.

Finally, Andrew convinced me to go on that terrifying ride where you basically just free fall. As you can see in this picture, I was trying to look scared to be funny...but then my true fear shone through. I was really really scared.

Lastly, and most important of all, we learned how to do this:

We're (Kind Of) Growing Up

We're slowly but surely getting furniture that doesn't disgust us. 

We started with our entertainment center.

This little beauty was a gift from a friend who was getting rid of her old furniture. Luckily our TV is super tiny so it fit perfectly here. (By the way, my friend was also kind enough to give us an old armchair that she took from my parents' house. Talk about generous!)

We told Grandpa Vernile that we were looking for a new entertainment center and the next day, Uncle Brian gave us their old one for FREE!

Andrew put some work in sanding and staining and came up with this awesome piece! Awwww yeah! (It looks even better in real life.)

Well, once our new entertainment center was looking pretty prime our couch became almost unbearable to behold. But you don't have to take my word for it....

That's right. This piece has been corrupting our living room for almost 10 months now. It shouldn't surprise you that we actually found this couch on a sidewalk with a "Free" sign on it. We were just grateful that it wasn't accompanied by a curse or a lost soul, probably because it was too disgusting for even an evil entity to inhabit. I did, however, find a comb (neither mine or Andrew's) in it.

So we made our very first furniture purchase!

We felt that splurging on this reclining (basically) leather sofa for $550 was well worth it. 

Not to mention we got an $80 Blu Ray player for only $19!  

Despite all of our renovations, no, you are still not invited to come over. Don't be offended that we don't find you a person worth cleaning our home for. Or do. Either way, you're still not invited.

The Last 15 Months

So here are some of the things we have done in the 15 months since Andrew has been home from his mission. 

We got our spirituality on at General Conference in April of 2011.

But then we were nervous that we were becoming righteous, so we went to the Public Enemy concert in da club. We're holding a towel that was signed and sweated on by the one and only Flavor Flav!

One time Andrew tried this bra on.

And another time we ate chocolate together.

Then we participated in the March of Dimes.

We also made it to quite a few birthday parties where Uncle Andrew was, of course, the hit of the entire event.

We went on a vacation to Oklahoma to watch my brother graduate from medical school. Here we are at the airport. We also made a pit stop in Texas at the Great Wolf Lodge, but I didn't take pictures there because the water park would have ruined my camera. 

 We also went camping and Fishing at Junction, Fairview, and Fish Lake.

Finally, we got engaged and married which lead to...

...our HONEYMOON!!! We went on a cruise to Mexico which included stops in Catalina and Ensenada. We took 32 pictures on our honeymoon. Here comes the break down:

Three pictures on the actual cruise ship (all during meal times)

12 on the boat ride from the cruise ship to Catalina Island

9 pictures on Catalina Island (3 were with this buffalo, 3 were eating fish tacos, and 3 were waiting for our fish tacos to arrive)

 

 

0 pictures in Ensenada or any part of the drive between Utah and California

8 pictures on the last night of our honeymoon when we spontaneously decided to stop in St. George and see the Little Mermaid. All of our St. George pictures (besides the Grease pic) were of us waiting in line to see if we would get the overflow tickets. I didn't post those pictures because I'm not sure what's happening in them. It appears we were trying to look like zombies or we were trying to give instructions on how to chest trap a soccer ball. 

And finally....our first Christmas!

Also, thanks to the generosity of Chance and Alyse, we got free tickets to a Denver Broncos game and a free hotel room in Glenwood Springs.

Unfortunately, this is the only proof of our Colorado trip that we have. 

Of course there were lots of super awesome things that we did in the last 15 months, but as you can see, taking pictures isn't really a priority for us.
